Summer ArtLab
Introducing Summer ArtLab: A Creative New Opportunity for students in Years 5–7
We’re excited to announce the launch of Summer ArtLab, a vibrant new extension of the SPX Cocurricular ArtLab program, designed especially for students in Years 5–7.
This initiative offers a structured and inclusive space for younger students to explore Visual Arts beyond the classroom, nurturing creativity during a key stage of development.
Through hands-on activities, students will build foundational skills, express themselves freely, and engage with art history and cultural diversity in a fun, non-assessed environment. The program also fosters wellbeing and belonging, providing a supportive space for social connection and emotional growth.
A unique feature of Summer ArtLab is its cross-age mentoring model, with recent graduates helping to facilitate sessions, strengthening community ties and leadership pathways within the College.
We look forward to seeing our young artists thrive as confident creators and curious thinkers in this exciting new program!
Cost: as per Cocurricular charges

Key Updates:
Year 7–10 Grading
Our first round of grading has now concluded across all Year 7–10 groups. Teams are beginning to take shape, and early feedback from our selectors suggests that a number of students may improve their team placement from last season based on performances and effort displayed.
Each year group will have a final grading session, which will be crucial in confirming team selections. Please note that for Week 10, we are awaiting final details from the Graduation Planning Committee, and there may be adjustments to the grading schedule for those sessions. Stay tuned!
Additionally:
Internal Development Teams will be formed for Years 7 and 8, providing further opportunities for skill development and game experience.
There will be no internal teams for Years 9 and 10 this season.
Thank you to all students for your enthusiasm and commitment throughout the grading process. The energy and effort shown so far is a great sign of what’s to come in Term 4.
Singlet Sizing (Year 7-10)
Singlet sizes have been submitted to the College Shop. Please be patient as they process the orders that can now be placed by families. If you need to purchase a singlet, please do so via the below link. When purchasing online, please indicate in the purchase sets your sons year group. This is to avoid any number clashes.
Preseason Fixtures
Save the date: Saturday 18 October will be a preseason game (At this stage it will include all A and B Teams) We are in conversation with St Aloysius and there may be scope for more games or internal games at Oxford Falls. TBC!
Holiday Camps
From tomorrow afternoon, Clipboard will open for registrations for our upcoming Holiday Camps.
At this stage, camps will run in Week 2 of the holidays, taking place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. All session details, including times and locations, will be available in Clipboard. If there are large numbers we will look to expand into Week 1.
We strongly encourage as many boys as possible to take up this opportunity - it’s a great chance to stay active, sharpen skills, and enjoy sport in a fun and supportive environment.
Training Schedule
Due to the size of our program the training schedule is complex and jam packed. There will be morning sessions each weekday, two afternoon timeslots at Chatswood in the school Gym and several teams that will travel to Oxfords Falls, Monday-Thursday. The final timetable will be shared prior to the season commencing, once teams are finalised and coaches are appointed to each team.
