Year 2 Mathematics - Exploring 2D Shapes

This week in maths, students explored 2D shapes through a creative hands-on project. Using only shapes such as circles, squares, triangles and rectangles, students designed their own “Shape City.” Buildings, roads, parks, and other city features were carefully constructed by combining and arranging shapes in different ways. This activity encouraged students to think about the properties of shapes while applying problem-solving and creativity. It was a fantastic way to see how maths can connect to the real world in an engaging and enjoyable way.
