School News and Information

Kindergarten Koalas NEWS

We can’t believe we are already approaching the last term of the year!  It has been amazing to watch the students grow and develop in so many ways.  We are incredibly proud of the progress each child has made and are excited to continue learning together.

Maths

This term, we have been exploring the concept of volume and capacity.  Students have enjoyed hands-on activities comparing how much different containers can hold by filling and pouring sand in the sandpit.  Alongside this, we have been focusing on addition.  Through games and hands-on activities, students have been learning to combine groups of objects to find the total.

English

Our English lessons have focused on understanding perspective — learning that people can have different opinions about stories. We have been reading a variety of books and encouraging students to share what they like and dislike about the characters, events, or endings.

Geography

In Geography, our learning has centred around “special places".  We introduced the children to Uluru.  Inspired by this, the children created their own colourful artwork representing Uluru, which is now displayed proudly outside our classroom.

As we head into the school holidays, we wish all families a restful and joyful break.  We look forward to welcoming the students back for an exciting final term of Kindergarten.
