From the Principal's Desk

Week 10

We have had a much quieter week this week at the Gully, which has been nice to lead into the holidays. The nature area reopened this week and everyone was SO excited to get back into this wonderful space!

Last week we held our NEON Disco and parent information session on Reading through Vocabulary.  We had a fantastic response with parents feeling a lot more confident regarding listening to and encouraging reading at home after attending this evening. Below are some links from Mrs Polson to help at home.

We also raised $481 for Save our Sons foundation at the disco. WOW! Well done everyone!

ASC Transition to Year 7 morning.

What a wonderful day Year 6 students had at Armidale Secondary College last week. They completed History, Maths, English and Visual Arts activities. The sessions were all so well organised and the student's loved our time up in high school. A huge thanks to all the staff involved at ASC. The kids are very excited for next year!

Next term, students attending ASC will attend a transition day on Tuesday 2nd December.

Students must have completed the ASC enrolment forms to attend this day.

Parents also have an Information Evening at ASC on Wednesday 3rd December. More details to follow.

ASC Year 6 Colour Blast

Today our Year 6 students attended the ASC Colour Blast to assist with transition to high school and meet new friends. We had a fabulous time! A huge thank you to ASC for organising the event.

Don't forget our Interest Group Day

Next term on Wednesday 29 November, we will be holding an interest group day, allowing students to tap into areas of interest for their learning.  The day will be broken into sessions of approximately one hour.  This is an approach our school will embrace further in 2026, identifying opportunities for students to access High Potential and Gifted Education opportunities.

We are inviting parents, carers and community members who have an activity they would like to offer for K-2, 3-6 or K-6 to contact the school via phone or email over the coming weeks with any activity ideas.  Volunteers must have a working with Children check.
