Disney's Frozen Jr:
Performing Arts Showcase, 2025- The countdown is on.
Now, with less than 1 week until showtime, St Brendan’s is abuzz with rehearsal and preparations for our whole school production of Frozen Jr. We can't wait to see you and your loved ones at this wonderful celebration of community as we bring Frozen Jr. to life.
As the opening of our school show draws closer, I would like to thank and acknowledge the work of all in the St Brendan’s community for their support in bringing Frozen to the stage. I will have many thank yous to follow, but would particularly like to thank one of our grandparents here at St Brendan’s, Karen Brouwer. Karen was tasked with creating the bedheads for our princesses, Anna and Elsa, and her work is absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Karen, for your generosity and artistic brilliance in painting these props, making them extra special and in keeping with the setting of the Frozen story.
Thank you to Sharon Christensen for her tireless efforts and attention to detail in making and coordinating costumes for our cast. Sharon has spent countless hours making sure every student will look their very best. I have been so lucky to work with Sharon over the years at St Brendan’s and very much appreciate her resourcefulness, ‘can do’ attitude and creativity. She is truly a ‘Costumier Extraordinaire’, the name by which she is affectionately known to me.
Thank you to Jenny Riddell and her husband and son (Chris and Callum) for their vision and creativity with so many of the beautiful props which you will see in our shows. Again, I have been so lucky to work with Jenny over the years at St Brendan’s and very much appreciate her vision, patience, ‘can do’ attitude and creativity.
Rehearsals & Home Preparation
This week is our last EPIC week of rehearsals, and the students have been absolute superstars throughout. I encourage all students with main character roles to continue rehearsing their dialogue and songs at home via the resources on their Google Classroom. Ideally, students should know all of their lines by now.
