Celebrating the Wonderful Men of Our Community: Our Dads, Step-Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles and Special Friends
Dear St Brendan’s Families,
What a special week we’ve shared together as a school community, honouring the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who bring so much love, strength and guidance into our lives.
Our heartfelt celebrations began with a wonderfully well-attended Father’s Day Breakfast, hosted with warmth and hospitality by our amazing St Brendan’s staff. It was fantastic to see so many of the men in our community, dads, uncles, grandpas, brothers, and carers sharing a coffee and a bacon and egg roll, a laugh, and some special moments with their children and each other. These connections are what make our school community so vibrant and supportive.
Next followed was a Father’s Day Stall, beautifully run by a dedicated team of mums, led with care and energy by Natalia Pidgeon. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and creativity to make this event such a success. Our students loved choosing that perfect little gift. It was truly heart warming to see the thought they put into each one.
To bring our celebrations to a close, we gathered as a whole school for a deeply moving Mass to give thanks to God for the gift of fathers and all the important men in our lives. This Mass was lovingly prepared by our Year 3/4 teachers and students. We were truly blessed to have Father Shymon lead the celebration of the Mass.
This occasion also marked a significant and emotional moment in our school’s journey. For the last time, our inspiring Religious Education Leader and Music/Performing Arts teacher, Ms Emma Chapple led the St Brendan’s Choir and our entire community in joyful song. Emma’s leadership, creativity, and deep faith have uplifted and inspired us over many years, and this special Mass was made even more moving under her musical direction. Thank you Emma. I will leave our final goodbyes and heartfelt thanks to the night of our wonderful school production, Frozen Junior.
Events like these remind us of the strength and spirit of the St Brendan’s community. They speak of love, gratitude, faith, and the incredible support we offer one another. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this special day whether behind the scenes or front and centre. You are what makes our school so special.
I hope that all our dads, grandfathers, carers and special men enjoyed a beautiful day of celebration on Sunday. I wish you all continued blessings and a year filled with love and pride in the difference you make every day.
This is the final newsletter for Term 3. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period and I look forward to welcoming everyone back to St Brendan’s for a busy and exciting Term 4.
Warm regards,
Sue Carr
