I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" is a lyric poem by William Wordsworth. It is one of his most popular, and was inspired by an encounter on 15 April 1802 during a walk with his younger sister Dorothy, when they saw a "long belt" of daffodils on the shore of Ullswater in the English Lake District.

Our mentor text for the start of term 4 introduces our poetry content. This short poem by William Wordsworth explores a vast range of figurative language and strong vocab from the 1800s. Students have been exploring vocab such as host, margin and continuous.

They've continued learning about or coordinating and subordinating conjunctions which create compound and complex sentences.

Big Idea 12-13 - RELATIONS & FUNCTIONS: Mathematical rules (relations) can be used to assign members of one set to members of another set. A special rule (function) assigns each member of one set to a unique member of the other set.

EQUATIONS & INEQUALITIES: Rules of arithmetic and algebra can be used together with notions of equivalence to transform equations and inequalities so solutions can be found.

This week we are commencing Big Idea 12-13. This concept will introduce our Statistics content and the last part of our Algebra for the year.

Their products will be sold at a school community market called 'Bizarre Bazaar,' and proceeds from the market will be directed to a charity selected by the class.

This term students will be learning about designing, production and marking of a product that they will make and then sell at our end of term Bizarre Bazaar Market.
