Loving learning every day with Miss W and Miss Mawby!

LIFE ED VISIT - bCyberwise Adventure

Today our class stepped into the world of cyberspace with Life Ed  and a very wise giraffe reminding us how to stay safe online!

With a big focus on digital technology and managing our online lives, students learned how to recognise, react and report unwanted contact, whether it’s bullying, someone being a bit too nosey, or a mysterious “friend” request from someone who definitely isn’t in in our circle of friends.

We explored:

  • Keeping personal information safe online (because your full name, birthday, address and favourite flavour of ice-cream do not need to be in your gaming username).
  • How to be respectful and responsible using technology, even when your Wi-Fi drops out mid-game.
  • Ways to build positive friendships both online and face-to-face, because emojis are great, but kindness in real life still wins.
  • What to do as a bystander  because watching quietly while your friend gets cyber-hassled is not a heroic act.

Students also learned some handy strategies to combat cyberbullying, like using assertive language, reporting unsafe behaviour, and definitely not engaging in a comment war.

I am happy to report that the class left feeling officially bCyberwise, a little more tech-savvy, a lot more mindful, and absolutely determined to guard their passwords like top-secret treasure.

So if your child suddenly refuses to tell you their login details, don’t worry. It’s not rebellion—it’s cybersafety!
