Cinesnaps

Congratulations to Grace Eckersley and Max Cruse, Year Ten, for their film The Pull in the Cinesnaps competition, which was announced at Cinefest in Busselton this week. They were awarded the Runner Up prize, which is a great achievement given they were up against films from Year Eleven and Twelve students across the state.

Many thanks also to Ms Katie Gunning for all her support of the students.

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre

Students in Years Three, Five and Seven were treated to a performance by the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre on Wednesday.

The show, Pillow Fight, was a playful and imaginative retelling of sibling rivalry centred around the mystery of who broke the cookie jar back in 1985! With inventive storytelling and magical puppetry, the students were captivated from start to finish… though the mystery remains unsolved!

P&F Events

How to Enjoy the Amusements at Kingfisher Fair 2025!

This year, we are excited to offer a variety of amusements at the Kingfisher Fair and we are doing things a little differently!

The P&F provides most amusements in partnership with the school and can be accessed with a wristband, available for purchase from Reception. Wristbands cost $15 and include five turns on any of the listed rides. Each turn is marked off on the band and families are welcome to share one wristband between children.

Wristband Amusements include:

  • Laserscape
  • 40ft Inflatable Obstacle Course
  • Bouncy Castles
  • 20ft Inflatable Slide
  • 9-Hole Mini Golf
  • Sumo Suits (for adults and children)
  • Giant Soccer Darts

Additional Attractions:

There are also free activities, such as the Kalgan Fire Brigade truck – be sure to support their raffle on the day! Some student-run enterprises will also be operating. These are not covered by wristbands, as proceeds go directly to the students.

We hope your family enjoys the amusements and that they add to the fun and festive atmosphere of the day!

Cash

A reminder that most stalls at the Kingfisher Fair are only able to accept cash. It will be really helpful if visitors bring small denominations with them. However, we are pleased to advise that we will be able to offer a limited EFTPOS 'cash out only' facility at Reception in the main Administration building.

P&F Wine Bar

Great news!! The popular P&F Wine Bar is happening again. We look forward to offering a range of local wines as well as the 2025 Grammar grown Ngwayir, which will also be available for sale (packaged) along with mixed cases of previous vintages (at a discounted price).

Market Stall

Donations to the Market Stall are invited from everyone (grandparents, friends etc).

Ideas include: hand-made cards, seedlings, fresh produce, second-hand books, toys and clothes (in good condition), homemade scrunchies, firewood, plants, bags of manure.

Please note that eggs, honey and lemon/lime curd can’t be sold.

If jams/chutneys are donated, second-hand jars are acceptable, but lids must be new. Ingredient lists are required.

Giant Inflatables

Please note that the timeslots asking for help with the Giant Inflatables have been changed to one-hour timeslots. You will receive an induction and then your role will be to mark off the timeslot on children's wristbands and then time the session. Could not be easier!!

RUOK Day

On the 11 September (Thursday of Week 8) is RUOK Day. This is a day to ask all your friends and family how they are going in a more meaningful way. To celebrate this, the Student Council are encouraging all students to wear a yellow accessory, and we have decided to hold a fundraiser in the Secondary School for Headspace Albany and Youth Focus.

Primary School: Wear a yellow accessory! No gold coin donation required.

Secondary School: Wear a yellow accessory and there will be a cake stall at lunch, as well as games in the quadrangle! It will be a gold coin donation for items at the cake stall.
