Inquiry
On Monday we started our whole school throughline ‘Move it, change it, mix it, test it’ with an amazing whole school incursion. Students got to see and take part in experiments that showed us:
- Air is invisible, odourless, all around, takes up space, and exerts a pressure. We were shown an airzooka assault and some giant smoke vortex rings!
- Bernoulli’s principle demonstrated through levitating beach balls. This helped us begin to think about different forces and air flow.
- There are two types of electricity: flowing and static. We observed static electricity with our Van de Graaff Generator which made flying confetti, and a hair-raising demonstration with two of our Year 5/6 students
