Coaches Corner

Congratulations to our new Performance Coach, Isabella Symons!
Isabella Symons is RSC's new lead coach for State Performance squad in the Performance stream. Bella will also be coaching some of our junior squads and taking a lead role in RSC's Strength & Conditioning program. Bella spent 14 years as a competitive swimmer, going all the way to Nationals. She has completed both a Bachelor's of Sports and Exercise Science as well as a Master’s of Applied Sports Science and has been working with Hawthorn’s AFLW and Hawthorn aligned Box Hill Hawks VFLW football teams as their Football Performance Analyst. Bella's enthusiasm for coaching is infectious and her passion for helping athletes grow and achieve their goals, whether it's getting a PB or learning a new skill, is a real asset to RSC.
Uniforms
All swimmers should wear a purple RSC cap during training. This allows coaches to be able to identify all RSC swimmers during training. It's also great for the public to see a cohesive team. If your swimmer doesn't have a cap, you can get one in the clubroom at any time. Caps are $15, which can be paid by bank transfer, cash or tap.
Keep your belongings in the clubroom
Please let your swimmers know that they should leave their belongings in the clubroom while they are training to ensure their things are kept safe. There have been some issues with theft of items left on pool deck. Swimmers should avoid leaving their bags in/near the alleyway next to the first aid room, which can't be seen from the clubroom. Bags and other items left in the clubroom should be placed neatly and out of the way.
Labelled items
Just a reminder to please label all of your swimmer's belongings/equipment. During training, we spend a lot of time looking for gear as the majority of it isn't named and swimmers are taking the wrong items. Please label your items on the front and back so it is easy to identify. This includes RSC polo tops and other uniform items. We have a lot of cases of swimmers taking the wrong size polo home by mistake!
