On Tuesday Hugh Sait lead an excellent presentation for the VM PDS class to propose upgrades to the Charlton Bike track. Council’s in attendance included Cr David Pollard, Mayor Alan Getley, Buloke Shire CEO Cr Wayne O’Toole, Cr Jenna Allan, Cr Rory White and Cr Gayor Atkin. The class were seeking permission to clean up and upgrade the bike track that runs off Arundell Square behind the Travellers Rest Caravan Park.
The proposal includes making new environmentally sustainable jumps, that have safe entry and exit points that are suitable for all age groups and riding abilities. Council members were positive towards the proposed idea and are seeking further clarification from VicTrack and a couple of other organisations prior to giving full approval. The VM Class catered for the presentation which was defiantly a highlight.
Well done, Hugh and the VM PDS Class. Thank-you to the staff that also assisted with this.
On Tuesday, Charlton College had Senior and Intermediate Netball teams compete in the NCCD Netball against St Arnaud, Maryborough and Wycheproof. The Senior team came up against some strong opponents. For much of the day our defence of Annie, Isabel, Ezzie and newcomer to netball, Ebony did all they could and came up with plenty of turnover ball. Whilst the attack end of Dayne, Zali, Elise and Emily, moved the ball around to the best of their ability to score all they could. Much fun was had, plenty of laughs and smiles on court. Comment of the day however, would have to had come from Emily, as she came from the court having played defence, “I am so tired, I have tried all I can, but not achieved anything!”
A big thanks goes to Tahli for umpiring all our games and Claudia for her advice and encouragement from the sidelines. Thanks to Jennifer for her support on the sidelines, her first ever day at netball! 😊
Tuesday 16th Junior boys travelled to St Arnaud to compete against Maryborough Education Centre for a place at the LMR level. The boys competed hard against a very strong MEC team and unfortunately did not get the win.
Thank you to St Arnaud for the opportunity to combine and form a team!
