Maths and Writing in Year 1 & 2

In 1/2 we love challenging ourselves with multiplication and using different strategies to solve the problems. Some of us like to show our working out using a number line or repeated addition, while others love making groups and arrays with blocks, or drawing groups and arrays. Some of us extended our skills even further and tried using the box method as another strategy. We’ve enjoyed learning about multiplication and choosing an approach that is right for us!

In Writing, we are enjoying letter-writing activities. We have written letters to our friends and Olympic Athletes. 1K & 1M wrote letters to each other and then shared their responses, which helped them build communication skills in a meaningful context.
