Student Learning

Foundation

Our Foundation students have been learning about the structure of letter writing and all wrote letters to Mr O'Brien. They delivered them into the schools mailbox and Mr O'Brien was pretty excited to read them all.

Last week we celebrated our first 100 days of school with the theme "100 Days Brighter". Students had a fantastic time completing activities centred around the number 100.

Maths - Students learnt about all the different ways to make 10 with the rainbow facts.

Skillzone has been lots of fun for everyone. The highlight this week was the sack races!

Year 1/2

Reading: In keeping with our author study, some of the students have been reading The Twits and Fantastic Mr. Fox in book club.

Writing: The students have explored procedural texts, focusing on the materials and steps required. Afterwards, they wrote their own procedural text on how to wash a woolly mammoth. They also followed instructions  to create an origami hat and an origami fish.

Maths: The students had fun learning about money. They created their own lunch orders and calculated the total cost, as well as the change they would receive.

Art: With cold mornings as inspiration,  the students used water paints to create hot chocolate and beanie art work.

PE: There were plenty of smiles as the students enjoyed hurdles and relay races.

Year 3/4

Students showing their work in financial transactions, finding the total and then the change. Fantastic work!

Keegan super happy with his extension work in fractions!

Year 5/6

Students in 5/6 had a fantastic time dressing in their PJs for Pyjama Day.
