Student Engagement

Transport for NSW

Bodhi, Tommy, Tully, and Riley W. had a fantastic start to their work experience at Transport for NSW. The induction process was thorough and engaging, setting a positive tone for their first week on the job.

Transport for NSW has been incredibly welcoming, offering these students valuable work experience opportunities. They went above and beyond by providing each student with essential gear, including work boots, shirts, and pants. The group looked and felt the part, confidently passing their Workers on Foot assessment and exploring the machinery used at Transport for NSW (don't worry, none of the machines were operational during their tour!).

With their newfound skills, the students have been actively contributing to the job site. They've been identifying potential hazards, setting up barriers, and creating safe pedestrian walkways before any work begins. Their proactive approach and keen observation skills have already made a positive impact.

A special thank you to Andrew Wardle for making this experience possible. Our crew is eager to continue learning and mastering more tricks of the trade in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing their progress and the skills they'll acquire during their time with Transport for NSW.

Birdie Restaurant and Bar

Ivy, one of our resident Barista Team, has been making the most of her work experience at Birdie Restaurant and Bar. Ivy has completed the VERTO Barista Skills Course and used those skills to help develop our barista team to a new level of quality. She's now testing those skills in a full-fledged cafe!

She has embraced a variety of roles, including light food preparation, customer service, and barista duties. This diverse experience has allowed Ivy to develop well-rounded hospitality skills, making her an invaluable member of the team.

Ivy's dedication and enthusiasm have been evident in every task she undertakes. From crafting delicious coffee beverages to ensuring a pleasant dining experience for customers, Ivy has shown a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Birdie Restaurant and Bar, particularly Simmon and Leah, for providing Ivy with this wonderful opportunity.

We are excited to see Ivy continue to grow and excel in the hospitality industry.
