School Captain and Year 12 Report
With our Year 12s approaching their end of year VCE exams, we are lucky enough to be working with TSSM, who is widely regarded as Victoria’s leading provider of quality VCE tuition. They provide specialised Exam Preparation resources and sessions to allow VCE students across Victoria the opportunity to optimise their study and scores on the exams. These revision sessions normally cost $165 each, but the college will pay $260.00 per student to support up to 54 student places. The sessions will be run at TSSM’s VCE Centre, Level 14, 474 Flinders Street, Melbourne. This opportunity is on a first come, first serve basis. For more information, check the Compass event for the program, call or email the year 12 coordinator team, or visit the TSSM website.
As of the 29th of July, the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) applications for Year 12 students across Victoria have opened. This is where students will lodge their University applications for after high school, as well as their SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme).
Following this, the Year 12 students had an assembly regarding important information about VTAC. We urge students to book their appointments with our careers organiser Jacqueline Hunter, who can assist students through this process and answer questions. Jacquie will continue to provide help sessions during this period for additional support.
Time is catching up with us, and soon enough we will be at our Year 12 Graduation and Valedictory!
The class of 2024’s Graduation will be on the 24th of October to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Year 12s this year. But the fun doesn't stop there. Valedictory, which is a more formal event, will be on the 6th of December. As these events revolve around our cohort, we have gathered a group of determined Year 12s to form a Graduation and Valedictory committee, working alongside Mel and Viktorija. The committee will be working together to plan both events and share ideas to make both nights memorable. We cannot wait to see their work!
With both Valedictory and Graduation in mind, the Year 12 SRC members got the chance to have lunch with our Principal to discuss the plan and bring up ideas. It was an amazing sight to see, with so much engagement and interactions. Many questions were brought up and clarified between both the students and the Principal. Everyone is very excited to see it all come together in the end, especially after having discussed our requests and concerns.
Lastly, we are all coming together with the whole school to take part in a Canned Food Drive to collect food for those in need. The choice of canned food is deliberate due to its longer lasting and more convenient handling. The top 3 people, from senior school, who donates the most will receive a prize from the school, which is bringing a sense of excitement!
