During our buddy time with the preps, we carefully selected four different types of leaves and discussed their similarities and differences. After our discussion, we traced and cut out the leaves. Now, we're excited to use them to create a leaf garland. Working on this project with our prep buddies is so much fun!
The Year 5/6 students have embarked on an enriching journey of writing information reports. As they gathered information and crafted their reports, students not only learnt about various topics but also honed in on their skills in organising their information logically and coherently.Through this process, they are grasping the importance of structure and format, piecing together paragraphs like puzzle pieces. With each report they write, students create a deeper understanding of how to convey their writing effectively!
The 5/6s have deep-dived into the fundamental concepts of elapsed time and timetables. Elapsed time refers to the duration between two specific points in time, such as the time it takes to complete a task or travel from one location to another. Timetables provide structured schedules for various activities, including school classes, transportation, and work shifts. Understanding elapsed time and timetables enables effective time management and organisation in daily life.
During Inquiry sessions in the last few weeks, students explored natural disasters and our preparedness to deal with them. Delving into bushfires, some students mastered the art of crafting safety plans to mitigate risks and ensure community safety. Meanwhile, others ventured into the realm of meteorological phenomena, unravelling the distinctions between cyclones, hurricanes, tornadoes, and typhoons, equipping themselves with the knowledge to navigate the unpredictable forces of nature with confidence.
