Celebrating Success: Prep like a Pro!

(School Readiness Session for students entering Primary school in 2025)

We had a very successful first School Readiness Session for the kindergarten students this week. The kinder students were invited to spend some time with the current Prep students to get a sense of what it feels like to be a primary school student. Our current Prep students and some students from Year 5/6 took up the leadership role with pride, displaying exemplary manners as they welcomed the Kinder students.

The session was aimed at building resilience during challenging situations and why it is important to keep trying rather than giving up easily. Together, we explored strategies for overcoming challenges and seeking support when needed, fostering a mindset of perseverance and growth.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the school tour, where the Kinder students had the opportunity to explore the various areas of our school. From the foundation-level classrooms to the specialist areas and our expansive school grounds, every corner held a new adventure. The visit to Prep town and meeting our feathered friends, the chickens, added an extra touch of joy to the experience.

An encouraging aspect of the tour was witnessing our Foundation students stepping up to assist the Kinder students. Whether it was guiding them through activities, sharing stories, reading books together or engaging in role plays about making new friends, their kindness and enthusiasm was truly inspiring.

There will be more such sessions coming up in the next four weeks and we are excited to meet more little friends from other kindergartens.
