Art Room News

Earlier in the term, students worked on artwork for Mother's Day. Foundation students practised their clay modelling skills to produce textured clay pendants. Year 1/2 students were inspired by folk artist, Heather Galler, and painted flower bouquets. Year 3/4 students created flower bouquets and worked on their still-life painting and drawing skills, and Year 5/6 students designed some embossed hearts with a stained glass effect. See some of their wonderful creations below.

Youth Art for Reconciliation Exhibition

I am excited to announce that Clayton North Primary School has once again been invited to participate in the Youth Art for Reconciliation Exhibition for 2024. This year's theme is 'Treaty', and our Year 1/2/3/4 students have created some artworks inspired by Australian Aboriginal artists, some of which will be showcased in the exhibition.  The following flyer details the dates and location of the exhibition and we hope to get many of our CNPS community there to visit the gallery and support our students.

See below for more information.

TREATY - Youth Art For Reconciliation 2024

Dates: Thursday, 30 May 2024 | 02:00 PM to Sunday, 09 June 2024 | 04:00 PM

Monash Reconciliation Group (MRG) is a local organisation fostering links between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. MRG aims to liaise with residents, government bodies, and organizations dedicated to reconciliation and social justice. Each year, MRG invites school students from the City of Monash and surrounds to participate in "Youth Art for Reconciliation" Exhibition. This year's theme, "Treaty," highlights the ongoing dialogue and commitment to reconciliation. Through artistic expression, the exhibition aims to promote understanding, solidarity, and meaningful conversations amongst the youth, about Indigenous rights and the path towards a more equitable society.

Opening Celebrations: Friday, 31st May at 6:30 pm
