Division Cross Country

Congratulations to all the Division Cross Country runners who went to Ballam Park last Friday, 17th of May. We sent 60 students from Year 3 - 6 to run against teams from our district. It was an awesome day of perseverance, resilience, and fun. Congratulations to Ted C who finished first in U12/13 Boys, Evie J who finished 3rd in U12/13 Girls and Sam B who finished 3rd in U8/9 Boys. Please see the photos below. I would also like to congratulate Fawn J., Eve C., Toby B., Archie J., Finn D., Willow M., and Nate B. on advancing to the next round and finishing in the top 10. They will all be heading to Division Cross Country next Wednesday at Hastings and I can’t wait to cheer them on.

Overall, St Brendan’s placed 3rd in the District Schools Cross Country Championship. I am incredibly proud of everyone who participated.

Thank you to the teachers who braved the cold and supported the runners on the day - Ms. Waldock, Mrs. Van Der Peet, Ms. Smith, Ms. Ristrom, Ms. Bagshaw, and Ms. Brickwood. The day could not have run without you.

AFL at St Brendan’s

After consulting with some of our Year 5/6 students to enhance their engagement in Physical Education, we've decided to introduce a Unit of Study focusing on AFL. We've gathered fantastic resources and techniques from Scarlett at AFL Play Schools to support this initiative.

This program will be implemented across all 11 grades. Last week, we kicked off the unit by concentrating on handballing techniques and fostering teamwork skills. I'm excited to observe the progress of these skills on the footy oval during recess and lunchtime. Let's cheer on our students as they develop their AFL skills.
