St Brendan’s School TV

Because parenting doesn't come with instructions, SchoolTV is a wellbeing resource implemented at our school to help support you in the challenges of modern-day parenting relating to youth mental health and wellbeing. Parenting is a learning journey and SchoolTV supports families by providing credible information from trusted sources with practical strategies to help alleviate some of the challenges being faced by young people today.

Watch video interviews with leading wellbeing specialists and browse a library of resources. Each topic is accompanied by factsheets, podcasts, books, articles, apps and other videos.

This award-winning resource helps families build relationships, foster connections, enable understanding and break down barriers to navigate a pathway towards better mental health and wellbeing for young people. It will assist you in starting those conversations on topics that can sometimes be awkward or difficult to tackle.

Parents and caregivers are the greatest influence on a young person's life and SchoolTV focuses on empowering confident parenting.

Andrew Fuller Presents at St. Brendan's Primary School

A huge thank you to all community members who attended our event on Tuesday, May 7th, at 6:00 PM. It was an incredible evening as we had the privilege of hearing Andrew Fuller discuss the six essential elements for our children's success.

Andrew's presentation was not only informative and engaging but also delivered with genuine kindness as he shared his expertise on understanding and supporting our children.

In light of the valuable insights shared, I have ordered three of Andrew's books for our school library:

  • Unlocking Your Child's Genius
  • The A to Z of Feelings
  • Tricky Behaviours

If you're interested in borrowing any of these books, please don't hesitate to let me know. catch me on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, or you can email me at thaddock@sbsomerville.catholic.edu.au to reserve a copy. While Unlocking Your Child's Genius has been reserved, I can add you to the waiting list.

A special thank you goes out to everyone for their patience and understanding during the technical difficulties I faced. Your graciousness made a significant difference as we relocated to the Teacher Resource Room. Your support and understanding were truly appreciated.

Successful St Brendan’s Event: National Walk Safely To School Day

Our school community had a fantastic turnout on Friday, May 10th, for National Walk Safely To School Day. Students, families, and teachers alike embarked on a refreshing walk from Tilerkite Pre School to St. Brendan’s, seizing the opportunity to promote physical activity and safety awareness.

A big thank you goes out to our dedicated teachers, Mrs. Van Der Peet, Mrs. Greenland, and Mrs. Smith, for leading by example and joining in the walk. Special appreciation also goes to Mrs. Ziino and Mrs. Street for their thoughtful provision of fruits, vegetables, and, of course, the essential accessories – tattoos!

To relive the excitement and camaraderie of the event, we invite you to watch a special video crafted by Mrs. Greenland, capturing the spirit and energy of our walk. Let's continue to prioritize health and safety as a community!
