From the Principal

Another term has slipped by and I'm amazed once again about how much we have packed in. The start of our Intergenerational Learning project with Orange Grove Aged Care, has seen our Stage 6 students form strong bonds with their grandfriends. Go to 'Spotlight On' for more information from project leader, Ms Edwina Brennan.

I enjoyed taking the Barista team and their coaches to Birdie Noshery today to thank them for their hard work learning how to make coffee, chai, hot chocolate, and tea for staff.

Everyone who attended the PBL Winter Disco had a wonderful time and I enjoyed taking to the dance floor with the students and staff to the music put together by past student Jonah. Thanks to the PBL Committee for organising such a fun event for our students.

Yesterday was a fabulous way to end the term which has focussed on curiosity, one of our character pillars. Five stations were set up and students could visit and engage with the activities throughout the day. It was wonderful to see the joy and excitement on the student's faces. Go to "Spotlight On" for more details from the PWL Committee.

Two of our very treasured staff have let me know that they won't be returning this year.

Mrs Sharpe
Mrs Sharpe

Mrs Antonietta Sharpe is taking leave for the rest of the year and we wish her well during her period of leave. Reverend Anne Neville will be retiring after 16 years of work at our school. Rev Anne, as she is affectionately known, has dedicated thousands of hours to supporting students, staff and families through some of the hardest times and she has been a tower of strength for us. Rev Anne has helped plan carer and volunteer morning teas, supported us through grief and loss and helped us celebrate

all the wonderful times at our school, such as concerts and exhibitions. Rev Anne will be greatly missed, although she tells me she will drop in with her dog at different times. We will be holding a morning tea early in Term 3 to celebrate and thank Rev Anne for her service and dedication to our school.

Thank you to our teachers who have completed all academic reports and these have been sent home for you to peruse. Review meetings will be held in the first 3-4 weeks, so if you have anything you would like to discuss, this is a good time to chat with your child/ward's teacher about new goals for the next 6 months.

I will be taking long service leave for Term 3 and my husband Peter and I are looking forward to visiting the United Kingdom. Mrs Julie Hudson will be relieving principal for the first 5 weeks of my leave, with Mrs Jessica Hodder relieving as Deputy Principal. Ms Jodie Pritchard will be relieving principal for the last 5 weeks, with Mrs Kari Priest relieving as Deputy Principal. I know they are looking forward to taking on these roles and I wish them and the rest of the school all the very best for Term 3 while I'm away.

Stay warm and enjoy the Winter break.
