Term 2, Week 7
Dear Parents and Carers,
We acknowledge our first communicants, who will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time this Sunday. It's always a special day for both families and our school as our staff play a special role in preparing and supporting students and families on their sacramental journey. Mass is celebrated at 2:00 this coming Sunday. Special thanks to our Year 4 teachers and Mr Iacopino for preparing our students for this special sacrament.
We had a couple of incursions this week, our Year 1 students were involved in a cultural dance experience that allowed students to embrace and celebrate culture through a world of traditional music, dance and clothing.
Our Year 5 and 6 students were entertained by the talented Tom Thum. This unique incursion provided our students with a performance that combined beatboxing, sampling, mixing, multimedia, comedy, and much more. Needless to say, it was an unforgettable experience for our students.
PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL: Parents who wish to participate in a forum where parents are consulted and participate in the decision making process at Our Lady's may wish to consider being a member of our School Advisory Council. No particular expertise is required except a desire to represent and give voice to the parent body and discuss important matters that relate to the school's commitment to providing the best possible education for our students. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 13th June at 7pm. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please email lglouftsis@olps.vic.edu.au
I would like to take a moment to address an important matter regarding the safety of our children. There seems to be many parents parking in the school staff car park.We understand that mornings can be hectic, and finding a convenient parking spot might seem like a small concern in the grand scheme of things. However, the safety of our students should always remain our top priority. This safety concern directly impacts the safety of everyone in our school community. When parents park haphazardly or in restricted zones, it creates congestion and visibility issues that can lead to accidents or near misses (which we have already had). I ask for your cooperation in adhering to the designated parking areas and NOT accessing the staff car park. By doing so, we can create a safer environment for our children to arrive and depart from school safely.
NCCD - Nationally Consistent Collection of Data:
Each year in August, schools are mandated to complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or ‘help” at school so that all students have the opportunity to learn and succeed. For more information about this process please click on the link:
School Calendar: Please check the School Community Calendar Page for important upcoming events.
Have a lovely weekend
