Catholic Schools Week

What a pleasure it was to attend the celebratory mass with our Year 6 students last Tuesday. They were a credit to our school and their families. It is always interesting to show students different churches and to point out similarities and differences to St John's. They were particularly fascinated by the stations of the cross which are etched into the windows at Mary Help of Christians church in South Tamworth.

It was a lovely moment in the mass when the director acknowledged each school present at the mass and to hear Fr Curran cheer us on!

School Mass

Today we celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart, focusing on the pure love Jesus has for all of us. Thank you to Mrs Anderson, Mrs Harris and the students in K/1/2 for leading this celebration.

Our next school mass will be on 21st June at 10.15am, led by those preparing for their first Reconciliation.

First Reconciliation - change of date

We will start preparing for this sacrament next week with those students who are Catholic and in year 2. Unfortunately the date has had to be moved to Monday, 1 July at the same time of 3.45pm. I will send letters out to parents next week confirming this.

Answering Questions

I have come across a great resource that explains a lot of questions about the Catholic faith, mass, sacraments and prayers. It is organised in a way that you can find answers quickly and the explanations are concise, clear and easy to read. If you want to discuss anything or have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach out!
