Senior students have been offered Monday afternoons 3pm-4pm as an extra opportunity to work on their major projects in the workshop space with their teacher. The above completion dates may seem far away, but they will be fast upon us, so it is vitally important that students be working on both PROJECT and PORTFOLIO consistently between now and then. As a guide, students are expected to work at least one hour a week at home on their portfolios.
Subject Fee letters have gone home. This covers the cost of consumable materials and supplies. Payment can be made online via the CHS website. Payment options are available. Students can pay weekly, per term or as a lump sum payment. If financial hardship exists, please don’t hesitate to contact the finance department within the school.
All students require fully covered leather shoes to participate in the kitchens and workshops for Work Health and Safety requirements. Students in incorrect footwear are unable to participate and will be set alternate theory work in another supervised class.

Year 11 CAFS students have just completed their first assessment task. They were tasked with interviewing a person who supports an individual with special needs to achieve their goals and better manage their resources.
The interviews were very interesting to listen to and we are proud of the effort the students have made for their first task in CAFS. A BIG thank you goes out, to all the wonderful people in our community who graciously agreed to be interviewed by our students; you do an amazing job supporting individuals with special needs and were superstar interviewees.
Year 11 Hospitality students started Term 2 by completing their mandatory 35 hours of work placement. They learnt valuable workplace skills in communication and cookery. Congratulations McKenzie and Angelina who were offered employment as they showcased their magnificent work ethic and employability skills.
Students must return the work placement journal to their Hospitality teacher and upload a photo of the completed time sheet to the online learning platform Evidence Central.
