Dear families

It brings us great joy to welcome you back to another exciting term at Leighland. As we begin this term, we are reminded of the beautiful calling we have as a community to work hand in hand, supporting and uplifting one another in God’s love.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, it is written, “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor; If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” This wisdom captures the essence of our community. We are not just here as individuals, but as a collective body, bound together by a common purpose of nurturing and educating children.

One of the ways we celebrate this unity is through our personalised interest groups that run on a Friday afternoon. We are very excited at the planning stages, with our first rotation of groups beginning in Week 4! These groups are not just about having fun; they are about fostering connections among multiple ages, discovering new passions, building on prior skills and cultivating collaboration among our students.

This term, we are excited to base our groups on the Biblical Threads. Biblical Threads are action responses, and are qualities or characteristics that we desire our students to develop.  Below are the Biblical Threads that are woven throughout our units, and will become the foundation for our personalised interested groups for terms 2 and 3.

The success of these groups is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of our students and staff. It is heartwarming to see our students work together to support and nurture their talents and interests. Whether it is cheering each other on during sports activities, lending a helping hand, or sharing skills in a new task, each contribution adds to the richness of our school community.

Let us remember that by working together, we can achieve great things and create nurturing environments where every child can thrive. Let’s reach out a helping hand to those in need, celebrate the achievements of others, and stand together in times of joy and adversity. For it is through our collective efforts and God’s guiding hand that we can truly fulfill our mission of nurturing compassionate, resilient and inspired students.

In closing, we would like to share a blessing with your family. May God’s love and grace guide you in all that you do, may His wisdom illuminate your path, and may His peace dwell within your hearts now and always.

God bless,
