From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS community,

As the mid-year point of the year approaches, I wish to take the opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire GPS community for the very warm welcome I have received into this wonderful school community. I have thoroughly enjoyed settling in and getting to know the children and the community. Our school has some exciting times ahead and I eagerly look forward to what the future holds for us as we continue to work together in partnership.

I also take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our amazing staff for their welcome and support for me and for all their hard work during the first two terms of the school year. We are blessed to have the staff that we do here at GPS who put the children at the centre of all that they do. I wish them a safe and very well-deserved break at the end of the term.

I also wish all of our families a safe and relaxing school holiday break and I am looking forward to kicking off the second half of the year together on July 22.

Kind regards,

Darren

School hats

Hats are back from the start of term 3. As per our Sun Smart policy, school hats are to be worn in terms 1, 3 and 4. For further information, view the policy on the school website.

Optional student progress conferences

The optional student progress conferences have been held in the early part of term 3 in previous years. Next term, the conferences will be held in weeks 5 & 6, allowing our families more flexibility.

The conferences are optional. In week 1 you will receive a letter from your child's class teacher informing you whether they request an interview or not. If your child is new to the school or is moving into 409 or 410, we highly recommend making a time to meet with your child's teacher.

Class parties

Some of our classes were treated to a special lunch on Thursday to farewell students moving to a new class in term 3. The hot chips went down a treat!
