FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

From our Parish Bulletin

Corpus Christi, also known as the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is a solemn celebration in the Catholic Church.

The Real Presence of Jesus: Corpus Christi commemorates the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. It is a feast that emphasizes Christ’s abiding presence with us through this Sacrament. The readings remind us of Jesus’ offering of His Body and Blood, which serves as a lasting memorial of His saving death for us. Through the Eucharist, we renew our covenant with Him.

The Feast of Corpus Christi allows us to collectively thank God for Christ’s presence in the Eucharist and honour Him there. It teaches us about the Mystery, Faith, and devotion surrounding the Eucharist. We learn to appreciate and utilize the great gift of the Holy Eucharist, both as a Sacrament and as a sacrifice.

Corpus Christi is also the feast day of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement. St Ignatius Parish have about 30 members in this movement. We wish them a happy feast day.
