Dear families and supporters

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Yesterday, we were pleased to gather as a Catholic community to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In our Catholic School, we focus on teaching our students to embody positive principles through the teachings of Jesus. This sacrament serves as a way for Jesus to show his love for children in the present day. Through this sacrament, Jesus continues to inspire and impact the lives of children, demonstrating his ability to heal, liberate them from sin, and guide them towards a renewed life. It also provides children with an opportunity to grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus.

We were delighted to have Jacob and Fletcher join Jed, Xavier, Eloise, Hunter, and Izzy in participating in the preparation and reception of the Sacrament.

We extend our gratitude to Fr. Caldow, Miss McNamara, and Miss Sortino for their exceptional preparation of the children for this event. Thanks must also go to our Catholic Identity team for their help before, during and after the celebration.

Netball

Last week, a team comprised of Grade 5 & 6 students participated in the Campaspe Primary Netball Tournament, which was organized by the Echuca District Netball Association.

We were thrilled to debut our new netball uniforms, which were generously purchased by our Parents and Friends Association.

Throughout the day, we achieved success with 5 wins and 1 draw. However, the draw resulted in us finishing second for the day by a margin of 16%.

Our student netball players served as excellent ambassadors for our school, and it was a pleasure to support them throughout the event.

Special thanks to Bree Cox, our dedicated coach, and Holly Stone, who skillfully handled scoring duties.

Yard Updates

On Wednesday, the eldest in each family brought home a map of the outdoor spaces of our school.

We ask that you:

  • Take some time to reimagine our play spaces
  • Draw your suggestions on the map
  • Students in every family that return the map with suggestions will receive a Freddo Frog
  • Think about the spaces as ADD - REMOVE - KEEP - if you want to add something, what are you willing to get rid of

Today we had some progress with our outdoor spaces.

We look forward to seeing your ideas and bringing some of them to life over time.

Long Service Leave

I am taking some leave for the next two weeks, time to head north and enjoy some beach and sunshine.

Thank you to everyone that is supporting my time away.

Jessica Carmichael will lead St Joseph's in my absence so please make contact with our office if you need anything.

Take care, stay in touch.
