Donvale's EISM (Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne) athletics team travelled to Lakeside Stadium on Monday 22 April to compete in the EISM Division 1 Athletics Carnival. It was a chilly morning, but the sun soon appeared and shone all day as our students competed with great determination and humility on the track and in the field.
As the day progressed, the overall scores between the top few schools remained very close and Donvale was in contention to win the carnival – needing strong results in the 800m and 4x100m relays to win.
We are absolutely stoked to announce that Donvale Christian College are the WINNERS of the EISM Division 1 Athletics for 2024!
We placed 2nd in the Overall Boys Aggregate and 4th in the Overall Girls Aggregate.
A huge thank you to Trevor Carter, Justin Botha and Callum Healey for their expertise, coaching and encouragement of our students.
A snippet from our Sports Captains, Nat Reichman and Georgia Bonda:
The EISM athletics day featured amazing efforts from all who took part, including all Donvale students. Many amazing individual performances led to the overall accomplishment of the trophy. Each stride, jump, and throw were testaments to the unwavering spirit of our athletes. Congratulations to every participant for showcasing their God-given skills and pushing their limits.
