Principal's Report

What a week as we have all frozen through each day, please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the wet and cold weather - I know what a challenge it is from my two though! 

Running Track 

Last week we were very excited to allow the children to run the first laps of the new oval. Which is now completed, although very muddy! Fundraising is ongoing for this project and we greatly appreciate the ongoing support from our community to make this project come to fruition. We will circulate more information as we arrange an official opening.

Mid-Year Soiree - Wednesday 5th June - 6.00pm

Our next exciting event is the Mid-Year Soiree held on Wednesday 5th June. The soiree begins at 6:00pm in the Gym. I encourage all families to support our band program, our Friends of the Band have arranged an amazing raffle and a great auction on the night 

Performers will include our:

• Training Band
• Concert Band 
• Symphonic Band 
• Beginner Guitar Ensemble
• Advanced Guitar Ensemble
• Choir

We're very much looking forward to seeing as many people in the audience as possible!

REPORTS AND PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Teachers have been working incredibly hard over the last few weeks writing and finalising Semester 1 reports for our students.  Reports will be made live on 17th June with Parent Teacher Interviews taking place on 20th and 27th June.  If those dates and times differ for your child's class you will have already been made aware of this change.  Please do take the opportunity to visit with your child's class teacher during this time to have one of those incredibly important conversations about teaching and learning. 

2025 Enrolments

Our school is using an online system for new Foundation enrolments to Victorian government schools, called VicStudents.  

To get started: 

• Visit https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account and complete the online application form by Friday 26 July 2024.
• We will then review the information submitted and be in contact with you.
• If you are offered a place at BPS were encourage you to accept this offer ASAP.
• When accepting an offer, you will be required to provide additional personal and health information that will be shared with the school.

SCHOOL READINESS

We continue to celebrate our pre-Foundation readiness program with lots of fun activities planned for 3-4 year old children who attend our local kinder and child care.  If you are a family looking to take part in these activities please ring our school office to make a booking to attend one or all of the dates listed in the poster below!  If our current families know of friends who are wanting to take part please do pass on our details.  The more the merrier!
