Dear Parents and Friends of St Brigid’s,
What a wonderful week we have had. We welcomed Mordi Pre School to our school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, we had Foundation Prayer in Pyjamas and watched our kittens grow every day! We look forward to 4D assembly tomorrow and good luck to our 5/6 Interschool Sports Team.
St Brigid’s have decided to introduce a new award - “St Brigid’s “Light the Way” Award. This was in the discussion phrase prior to the Aussie of the Month award being introduced in 2023. We felt like the Aussie of the Month award is so successful we would like to now introduce an award that comes from the school
The certificate will recognise the following qualities:
Lead by Example - be a role model
Kindness - Look out for everybody
Positive Attitude - enjoyment of school and all it has to offer both academically and socially
Participation - prepared to have a go at everything.
There will be two awards per fortnight, one award to the F-2 cohort and the other to the Year 3-6 cohort.
We will launch the certificate at the last assembly for this term ready to start Term 3.
What a fantastic night we had dancing the night way with DJ Andy. The children had an amazing time playing the games that DJ Andy hosted, tattoos were on display and fluro necklaces and wrist bands were everywhere. Thank you to the SB Squad, the Year 3/4 parents for all their great work in setting up the hall. A big thank you to DJ Andy who kept the children entertained all night and a big thanks to our staff - Suzie, Lauren, Loretta, Cassie, Annemarie, Andrea, Christine, Cathryn and Sigi who enjoyed the night. A wonderful thank you to all the parents who stayed and helped make the night such a great success!
Our next fundraiser is the Trivia night on Saturday 15th June. There are only 16 seats left so make sure you speak to Tracey to book a seat. We look forward to seeing you there on the night!
Just a reminder to parents that if you have any questions or concerns in relation to your child it is important to make an appointment after school to discuss them with your child’s teacher. These discussions cannot occur at the start of the day as this is the time teachers need to welcome their children and to get them settled for the day, ready to start learning. It is also important to remember that we cannot resolve any concerns if we are not made aware of them, which is why we ask you to make an appointment as soon as you have any questions.
We hope your experience at St Brigid’s Mordialloc is positive and educationally enriching. If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts and experiences by leaving us a Google business review. Your feedback not only helps us continue to improve and grow but also assists other families in making informed decisions about their children's education. Thank you for taking the time to support our school community!
Thank you to the parents who have already completed a review.

We are still taking prospective families on school tours to come and visit our amazing school! We encourage all families to submit their application as soon as possible. If you know of a child or a family who are interested in coming to St Brigid’s please encourage them to book a school tour with Tracey at the front office or book via our website. Please ring the school office if tour times don't suit and we will happily arrange another time.
This week we were fortunate enough to have the 3 groups from Mordialloc Preschool come to visit us. They all participated in PMP activities with Mrs Roberts, visited with our bunnies and played with the Beebots in the STEM room. Our Year 5 students were divided into three groups and spent one of the sessions leading the activities. I am very proud of the way the Year 5’s interacted with the children, modelling, guiding and encouraging them in such a lovely manner. This was supported by the preschool who sent this message-
“We really enjoyed our visits. Your students were fantastic guides and role models and very caring of our students. We appreciate the effort and thought you put into our time at St Brigid's.”
We are looking forward to visiting the preschool later in the term.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart is on Friday 7th June. The Feast of the Sacred Heart celebrates Jesus’ divine love for humanity. We will be celebrating this feast day with Mass at 11.30am at St Brigid’s Church. We will be leaving school at 11 am. All are welcome to attend.
Our action for The Feast of the Sacred Heart is once again our St Vincent de Paul Winter appeal. We are working in conjunction with the Mordialloc Chapter of St Vinnies and they have told us their shelves are running very low. They are in desperate need of grocery items (in particular pasta sauce, tinned fruit, tinned tuna and soup) and toiletries. All donations will be greatly accepted. (Please check the use-by dates).
We will be holding a ‘Casual Clothes’ day on Wednesday 5th June. All children who bring along a donation to school can come in casual clothes.
This year, we are also asking for donations of good-quality blankets, beanies and gloves.
We as a community are so very generous whenever Barry from St Vincent de Paul calls for our help and we thank you for that generosity! Donations can be left at the office now. Our Winter appeal will run until Friday 7th June.
We are very excited about our upcoming St Brigid’s Primary School Athletics Carnival. Miss Richards has had all the students from Foundation to Year 6 practising the different skills in their PE classes.
The day will begin with all students completing a 100m sprint. Then students will rotate through track and field events throughout the day. All students will earn house points for their house colour. There will be an assembly back at school at 3pm to announce the overall house colour winners.
Students in Years 3-6 will complete long jump, shot put, discus, 200m, hurdles, 100m and 800m events. The results from these events will pick the St Brigid’s Athletics team that will represent our school at the Mordialloc District Athletics Carnival in September.
Students from Foundation - Year 2 will compete in athletic and novelty events.
