The 1/2 Level Staying Healthy
So far this year we have been learning about how to be healthy. We have learnt that exercising regularly helps our heart pump blood everywhere in our body. It is important to have a happy attitude because without it we would be grumpy and sad all the time and not want to do anything. To stay healthy we need to have a good night sleep and not use our technology before bed. We also need to drink water and eat healthy. This means we need to have 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Some of our favourites are watermelon, berries, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. We have made pictures of a healthy lunchbox and we look forward to continuing to see the healthy foods in your lunch.

Lent
The season of Lent begins next week, starting on Ash Wednesday. Ashes are what remain aftera fire has gone out. They are a symbol for us—of death and of grief. Many Christians today receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads. This cross of ashes signifies that we are blemished; we are not perfect; that a fire has gone out in us too and needs to be rekindled. This cross of ashes signifies that we are ready to change, and to make efforts to set out lives firmly on the way of Christ. We will celebrate the beginning of this season with Mass upstairs at 9.00am. Families are welcome to join us.
Ash Wednesday – 5 March 2025
Next week, the season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, which also marks the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal. Boxes will be sent home next week.
This Lent, we are called to Unite Against Poverty through Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. By taking home a Project Compassion donation box or envelope, you’ll be answering the Gospels’ call to care for our global family and walk alongside the most vulnerable.
Your generous support this Lenten Season will enable Caritas Australia to provide life-changing support to communities facing poverty, food insecurity, lack of education, and water shortages, while building resilience against future challenges. Together, through faith and action, we can bring hope and opportunity to those most in need.

Scholastic Book Club
Thank you to all the families who purchased items from the first issue of bookclub for the year! We certainly had a big delivery arrive last week! With each purchase we receive school credits, which we can use on books and classroom resources. Here’s what we were able to purchase with our credit! This week your child will bring home the second issue of bookclub (which is the final issue for term 1).
Please remember to order online or through the loop app, and please do not send cash to school.
The final day for orders to be placed is Friday 14th March.
Thank you for your support.

Well done Thomas (3A)
Tom did such a great job at the 3 day State Lifesaving Championships in Point Leo over the weekend. Tom competed all day on the heat and came away with the silver medal in U9 beach sprints. He competed against 52 boys in the state. What an amazing effort!
Mordialloc Lifesaving Club finished 4th overall so it was a great achievement by the club as well.
