I received this email from a parent about SPAR recently: -
" Thank you for sharing such a beautiful (and powerful) message during the prayer time, it was exactly what I needed and that made me feel so grateful."
Our next session will be reflecting on the meaning of the Catholic season of Lent and how we can bring it into our homes. All parents invited.

Save the date!! We will catch the train together into the city and return in time for pick up. We go to St Mary's Cathedral to start our prayer walk to the Art Gallery of NSW. We get stools to sit on in front of selected artworks. It is prayer in the style of St Ignatius, contemplative and seeing God in our everyday life. It lasts for about 2 hours. We then have lunch and return to school. RSVP ASAP as numbers limited. Email me on anne.gray1@dbb.catholic.edu.au
Coffee Connect- Every 2nd Thursday of the month at Moore Cafe in West Lindfield from 8.15 am - 9.30 am. Next one is 13 March. Parents from any year group welcome! Come for a few minutes or stay the whole time. It's friendly, casual and always good chat! I especially invite new families to the school to join us.
YOUTH MINISTRY
2025 is a Jubilee Year of Hope. The year calls Christians to action. Pope Francis calls for “signs of hope” in this Jubilee Year. It’s a time for us to grow spiritually, through prayer and participation in the life of the Church.
Today, our senior students engaged in prayer and discerned how they can be disciples of Jesus. We referred to Sacred Scripture and highlighted verses that call us to outreach. Students responded through engaging in Biblical Micrography.
Our senior students' mission, as youth ministers, is to accompany our younger students to a greater understanding of why we do what we do on Rice Day here at Holy Family. We will be supporting Caritas through their Project Compassion initiative to raise funds for our brothers and sisters in need. Next Thursday, 6 March we are inviting our students to “walk in the shoes” of those less fortunate than ourselves by giving up their snack for a day by having a bowl of rice to eat instead. There are many children around the world who don’t have enough food to eat. Sadly, many children survive with less than a cup of rice each day.
What can we do here at Holy Family? We can encourage our children to participate in Rice Day to raise awareness. How can your child participate?
Please have a discussion with your child about Rice Day and ask them to:
1. Leave their snack at home.
2. Stand in the queue at the Canteen for their rice at snack time
3. Bring in a donation equal to the price of their lunch (approx. $3.00 to $5.00). All proceeds will go to the Caritas Project Compassion Lenten Appeal.
Thank you in anticipation for supporting us to build the Kingdom of God at Holy Family.
Kind regards
Liana Stella
