Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Community,
What’s Been Happening at Holy Family This Week?
It has been another exciting and busy week at Holy Family, filled with learning, leadership, and community building.
We were delighted to host our Meet the Teacher sessions, where parents had the opportunity to connect with their child’s teacher and gain insights into the year ahead. These meetings strengthen the partnership between home and school, ensuring the best possible learning experience for our students. We value these connections and appreciate the time parents took to be part of these important conversations.
Planning is underway for our Parish Synodal Gathering, an important opportunity to come together as a faith community and reflect on the future of our Church. We look forward to meaningful conversations on Sunday 9th March that will help shape our parish journey. See the Parish News page for more information.
Our whole school assembly on Tuesday, led by our Senior students and the Student Representative Council (SRC), was a wonderful celebration of leadership in action. The students confidently took on their roles, sharing news, achievements, and reflections on our school values.
We congratulate our 27 students who represented Holy Family at the North Shore Zone Swimming Carnival at Hornsby Pool. Their dedication and sportsmanship were truly commendable, and we are proud of their efforts in the pool. A huge "Thank you" to Mrs Overton, Mr Clarke and Mrs Martin and the parents and families who were there to support our swimmers. A special congratulations to Ruby G. and Danniel L. who have qualified to swim at the Broken Bay Swimming Carnival at SOPAC, Homebush.
Finally, Mr Mitsui and our 52 members of the Green Team met this week, to reflect on their achievements and set goals for 2025. Their passion for environmental stewardship continues to inspire us all, and we look forward to seeing their initiatives take shape in the coming year.
A reminder to bring cans and bottles with the 10 cents return on Thursdays. To date, we have raised over $500 for new plants since the initiative commenced last year.
What’s On Next Week?
Next week is shaping up to be another exciting one at Holy Family, filled with opportunities for learning, connection, and faith.
The five principals involved in the SPARK (High Potential and Remarkable Kids) Gifted Education initiative which commenced in 2024 will meet to plan engaging and enriching learning experiences for students. We are excited about the possibilities this collaboration will bring! The five schools involved in the initiative include: Prouille at Wahroonga, St Patrick's, Berowra, Corpus Christ at St Ives, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, West Pymble and Holy Family.
On Tuesday, we will welcome prospective families to our Open Day, offering them a chance to see the wonderful learning that takes place daily at Holy Family. We look forward to sharing what makes our school such a special place. At the same time, current parents will have the opportunity to celebrate their child's learning during Wellbeing Week in Week 6. Stay tuned for more details!
Lent begins next week. During Ash Wednesday, (5th March) and our students will be invited to 12.00pm Mass as we enter this sacred season of reflection and preparation.
Also, on Wednesday, 5th March, we will host our Term One P&F Meeting. This is a fantastic opportunity for parents to connect, share ideas, and be involved in our school community. We encourage all parents to attend commencing at 7.00pm either onsite or via a Teams meeting! Please use the link

On Thursday evening, Holy Family staff will come together with colleagues from Catholic Schools Broken Bay to celebrate the Diocesan Jubilee Mass at OLOR, Waitara. This special event is a moment to reflect on and give thanks for the gift of Catholic education.
Meanwhile, our Year 3 and Year 5 students are busy preparing for the upcoming NAPLAN tests. We wish them all the best as they continue their preparations with confidence and determination.
It’s set to be a wonderful week ahead.
Kindest regards
Pauline Dinale - Principal
