SAGSE scholarship opportunity

Students learning German in Years 10, 11 & 12 have the amazing opportunity to host a German scholarship student later on this year. German Festival

This week, we have been celebrating the German festival of Karneval or Fasching at Oberon. For the first day of the celebration, our female German teachers cut the ties of some of their male colleagues to symbolise taking the power from the men. Following this, many Germans dress up in costumes, throw parties, and join in big parades in the lead up to Lent. Students in 7A and 7H enjoyed making their own masks, dancing to traditional Karneval songs and watching the parades online. Some were even lucky enough to receive small toys and sweets, just like parade-goers in Germany would have done.
