Curiosity ELC

Who do we share our garden with?
The Blue Team made an exciting discovery in our Curiosity trees – they learned that many different birds call these trees home! As we watched closely, some of the children noticed that not all the birds look the same. They pointed out that the birds have unique features, sparking a curious question: Could these be different types of birds?
Together, we observed and identified some fascinating creatures, like the Australian Magpies with their bold black and white feathers, the bright pink and grey Galahs, and the vibrant, colourful Rainbow Lorikeets.
Ellie and Indiana used a bird spotting chart to match the birds they saw. Ellie transferred her knowledge by drawing some to the different birds on the chart. The interest in birds and feathers has linked strongly with many areas of learning inside and outside. Using feathers in the Create and Make space in many different ways. Some of these works are not on display in the “Gallery.”
