Level 2

Our Level 2 students are happy and busy learning!
Reading
Our students have explored various nonfiction topics in Reading, expanding their research and comprehension skills. They have developed the skills to create detailed and accurate Information Reports by gathering facts about animals and places. This research process allows them to connect their reading directly to their writing, giving them a deeper understanding of the topics they explore.
Writing
In Writing, students have been busy drafting Information Reports, shifting their focus from animals and places to people next week. Working on these reports teaches them to organise their ideas and present factual information clearly. The students are becoming more confident in writing, honing their research and structured writing skills.
Numeracy
In Maths, we’ve been focusing on place value and exploring it in many different ways. The students have used technology, hands-on materials, and games to help them understand how numbers work and how to expand them. By trying many different paths to explore place value, they are building a solid foundation for understanding numbers. They also solve word problems, which helps them apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Next week, we will move on to the measurement unit, where the students will learn to measure and compare objects using various units.
Inquiry
In Inquiry, the students reflect on their personal histories by completing their timelines and marking important life events. Moving forward, we will begin exploring our community, comparing how things are today with how they were in the past. This exploration will help students understand the changes that have occurred over time and deepen their connection to the world around them.
Tennis Clinic
Level 2 students participated in a tennis clinic where they learned the basics of the sport. They practiced catching, throwing and hitting skills, improving their coordination and teamwork. This fun, energetic session allowed students to try something new while staying active.
