Foundation

We are now approaching the end of the Foundation students' first term which has been filled with exciting learning experiences.
Literacy
In Literacy, Foundation students have been continuing to explore new sounds! Since our last newsletter, we've covered Ee, Hh, Rr, Mm, Dd, and Gg. The students have enjoyed learning cued articulation, identifying words that begin with these sounds, and practicing writing them in different ways.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, Foundation students have been continuing to explore length, mass, and capacity. They have been measuring the length of objects, comparing the weight of different items, and measuring and ordering the capacity of objects using a variety of materials. We have also have been beginning to learn to collect, sort, and compare data.
Inquiry
In Inquiry, Foundation students have been continuing to explore Belonging and Identity. They read 'I Am Enough' by Grace Byers, focusing on what makes us unique while still being part of the same group, and 'You Belong Here' by M.H. Clark, which highlights how we belong to various types of families.
PMP & Tennis
This week, the Foundation students took part in our second PMP session outside. Students used a range of sports equipment to practice our active skills. Each class also had an opportunity to participate in the Tennis clinics where they had lots of fun throwing, catching, and hitting tennis balls.
