Level 6

We're a great mix in Level 6!

The past two weeks have been a busy time for our Level 6 students.

On Tuesday, 11th March, we participated in our second Gala Day of the term. While it was a modified program due to the heat, students continued to display great enthusiasm and sportsmanship, with two teams emerging as champions. Congratulations to the boys T-ball and volleyball teams, and a big thank you to the parents who generously volunteered their time.

This week also saw the beginning of our tennis clinics and the Life Education Program.

Reading

We continue to explore our class novel identifying themes throughout the text and how our opinions can change and grow as we receive new information.

Students have also been developing their comprehension skills by closely analysing images and making thoughtful observations.

We integrated reading and inquiry lessons and discovered more about immigration to Australia, creating timelines and identifying and analysing the causes and effects of immigration.

Writing

In writing, we have been identifying the purpose, structure and key features of information reports and explanation texts by comparing and analysing a range of examples.

Numeracy

In maths, students have been refining their skills in addition and subtraction of whole numbers, decimals and fractions. They have applied their knowledge to real world problems and mathematical investigations.
