Emotional Literacy: Building Stronger Minds at Rochester Primary School
This term, our students have been diving into emotional literacy as part of The Resilience Project. We've been focusing on the importance of understanding and expressing emotions in healthy ways. Through activities and discussions, students have learned practical strategies to recognize and manage their feelings, building resilience in the process. By practicing mindfulness, gratitude, and empathy, they've discovered how to better cope with life's challenges and support each other in times of difficulty. We are proud of how our students are growing in their emotional intelligence and becoming stronger, more compassionate individuals.
Stay tuned for more updates on our emotional learning journey!

Supporting Students with School Refusal: Understanding and Encouraging Positive Change
School refusal is a challenge that can affect students for various reasons, from anxiety and fear to struggles with social situations or academic pressure. It's important to recognize that school refusal is not simply "skipping school"—it often reflects deeper emotional or mental health concerns that need understanding and support.
At Rochester Primary School we are committed to providing a supportive environment for students facing school refusal. Our approach focuses on early intervention, building trust, and working closely with families to understand the root causes. By offering tailored support, including counselling services, open communication, and gradual re-engagement with school activities, we aim to help students overcome their barriers and rediscover a positive connection with their education.
If your child is having trouble attending school, please reach out to us.
