From the Principal

As we approach the final week of Term 1, we want to take a moment to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students. It has been a wonderful start to the year, with students settling into new routines, embracing our four school rules, and embodying the Super Six values. We are incredibly proud of their efforts—keep up the great work!

Also, thank you to our incredible teachers for their hard work, dedication, and passion this term! Your commitment to our students does not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate all that you do.

Foundation students have been exploring the theme of ‘All About Me.’ One of the highlights was their special ‘Breakfast at School’ event, where students and teachers enjoyed a fun-filled day in their pyjamas, indulging in toast, pancakes, and fruit.

Grade 1 students have been delving into the past, learning about history through hands-on experiences. Their interactive incursion featuring toys from the past was a big hit!

Grade 2 students embarked on an exciting journey into the world of animals and their habitats. Their excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary brought their studies to life as they encountered a variety of fascinating creatures up close.

Grade 3 students have been investigating environmental issues, covering important topics such as overfishing and the effects of water overuse. Their discussions and discoveries have sparked some thoughtful conversations about sustainability.

Grade 4 students have thoroughly enjoyed their inquiry unit, ‘Into the Unknown,’ where they explored Australia’s history and the formation of our society. Excitement is already building for next term as they prepare to hatch chickens!

Grade 5 students have had a science-packed term, deepening their understanding of the ‘Scientific Method.’ Their visit to Twisted Science provided an engaging and interactive way to expand their knowledge and curiosity about the world around them.

Grade 6 students have had an eventful term, receiving their leadership badges and stepping into their roles with enthusiasm. They have been captivated by their reading of Treasure Island, enjoyed interschool sports, and formed meaningful connections with their Foundation buddies.

School Council

School Council plays a vital role in the educational opportunity and outcomes of all students at PPS. Nominations for School Council have closed however, we still have two vacancies, if you are interested in joining School Council, please contact the school office or Leanne.

At the school council AGM, we presented the 2025 AIP and 2024 Annual report.  Once finalised the Annual Report will be made available to the school community via the website and our newsletter.

House Cross Country

Children in Grades 3-6 competed in our house cross country today.  It was fantastic to see the students cheering each other on, having a go and giving it their best.  The students who finished in the top 10 will participate at the district cross country next term.

Beach Program

Students in Grades 5 and 6 will participate in the beach program next week.  This program provides an opportunity for students to further develop their water safety skills and confidence in a beach environment.
