Welcome Fest 

When Mr Argall asked at Thanksgiving 2024, "What is your favourite type of welcome?" I knew my answer straight away - Welcome Fest! And what a warm (or hot!) welcome it was!

For the third year in a row, Friends of Donvale has treated the whole College community to a great big welcome. Adaptations were made this year in response to the hot weather which meant a slightly different layout incorporating some indoor spaces. All the favourites were there - the carnival games, fairy floss, donuts and popcorn, the food trucks, dunk tank and DJ not to mention around 1600 happy, smiling parents, children and staff.

Some new additions meant that even if you had been before, there was something new to explore. The HUGE Fantasy Island inflatable, the water slide, the chair-o-plane and Ignite Netball Club's water games all gave everyone something new to explore.

A highlight of course was the dunking of Mr Argall in the dunk tank. (You can glimpse him in the video below ...) Not a huge sacrifice on such a hot day but all the same, thanks for being a great sport and also to the other staff who were dunked including Mrs Vaughan. This really was an event for EVERYONE!

The year of Jubilee was acknowledged with a prayer tent where community members were able to pause and reflect on our God's grace and goodness.

A huge shout out must go out to our volunteers who helped on the day. A lot of work goes into the planning of Welcome Fest but it actually cannot run without 120 volunteers. Our volunteers did an amazing job making sure that everyone was safe and having fun. We are so thankful for you!
