Dear Parents and Carers,
Catholic Schools Week was a wonderful celebration of our school community, faith and values. It was heartwarming to see students, teachers and families come together in such a meaningful way, reinforcing the strong foundation of learning and faith that we strive to uphold every day. Thank you to Mrs Nancy Kubti for organising the beautiful liturgy and to all the parents that joined us for open classrooms.
Our recent Open Classrooms for prospective parents was a great success, providing future parents with an opportunity to witness our vibrant learning environment. It was wonderful to see our year six students engaged and showcasing our school with enthusiasm and passion. Many positive comments were shared from parents of how mature the year six tour guides were and how passionate they are about their school. Thank you Mrs Rochelle Borg who prepared the year six students and to the class teachers.
This week our students in years three and five are completing their NAPLAN. A huge congratulations to our students for their dedication and hard work in preparing for NAPLAN. We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated teachers for their ongoing support and commitment to student learning.
Students received raffle ticket books last week. All funds raised from the Easter Raffle will purchase resources for our STEM lessons. The child who sells the most raffle books will receive a prize at the time of the raffle. More raffle books can be obtained from the school office. thank you to the Partner's of StMM's fundraising committee for all the work they are doing behind the scenes.
A special thank you to the parents who completed the recent survey for our guest speaker program. Your support allows us to bring in valuable insights and experiences that enrich our students’ education. We hope to engage a guest speaker for our Partners of StMM’s CAFE meeting in term two.
Today, we celebrate the official opening and blessing of Ambrose, our before and after school care, a significant occasion for our school community. This event is a moment of reflection and gratitude, bringing us together in faith and unity. We appreciate all those who will be joining us in this meaningful celebration.
As part of our FIAT initiative, we will be introducing a Student Representative Council (SRC) to further develop student voice within our school.
Each class from Year 1 to Year 5 will have two students elected by their peers to represent them. The Year 6 student leaders will support the SRC in their role. Ms Krystle Perera, in her role as FIAT coordinator, will work directly with the SRC and year six student leaders. These students will play a vital role in representing their peers, voicing ideas and contributing to school initiatives. We hope to begin this from the start of term two.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement. We look forward to another wonderful week ahead!
Kind Regards,
Grace
