ONLINE SAFETY

In grades 3-6 over the past couple of weeks, we have been discussing our digital footprint, how we can keep our information private, and what to do if we feel unsafe or bullied online.
If we experience negative behaviour online from others, including harassment, intimidation, humiliation or threats, we identified that we should:
- Talk to a trusted adult
- Collect any evidence of the issue, such as screen shots or photographs
- Report the issue to the app it appears on (see link below on how to do this)
- If no action is taken, contact the eSafety Commissioner (Australia's independent regulator for online safety) at https://www.esafety.gov.au/report
For further information on apps or websites that your children may be using, you can go to the eSafety Commissoner's eSafety Guide at https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-topics/esafety-guide (or click here). The eSafety Guide provides information on the permitted ages, reporting processes, moderation and privacy for the individual apps, websites and games.
