3/4T Terrific Zoo Tales

On the 7th and the 8th of November 3/4T went to the Melbourne Zoo. We were the first group to go on camp so Miss T was our pioneer and had to work out where the bus had to drop us off at the Zoo etc.

We were there for camp. We went on a bus too and we were there to learn about animals and their habitat. And for fun of course!

Our leaders were Chris and Katherine, Chris was funny because he told funny jokes and stuff and had a great sense of humour and Katherine told us all the facts. She taught us about the animals and what the Zoo does to look after them.

We had the most fun when we chose teams and then we had to do a scavenger hunt. We had to find these things: Red panda enclosure, what the cafe was called, name 5 tent names and lastly what the bird was called. It was also funny in the morning when we had Sam jump on our tent at 6:00 o’clock in the morning too.

The food was delicious. We had pizza, mac and cheese and salad for dinner and a lemonade icy pole after. For breakfast we had yogurt, toast, and juice. We had ham and cheese toasties too.

Overall our favorite bit was seeing all the animals and sleeping at the zoo.

Mostly we would like to thank our teachers Ms Tench and Miss Rafferty, for taking us on this amazing trip to the Zoo.They handled everything outstandingly. We hope you weren't too tired, thank you for letting us go.

3/4L Zoo Snooze News

We went to the Zoo for camp on Tuesady 8th and came home on Wednesday 9th.

Our leaders were Pete and Mickey. They were really funny and pretty cool. Pete was very passionate about animals and how they work. Mickey was very funny and told us a lot about each and every animal.  It was funny when the small and quiet possums were on our tall tents and when the parrots were screaming at us for waking them up at 6am.

Overall our favorite bit was seeing the blood moon while going on the night walk because the animals got very active. We were even lucky enough to see the Tapir and the Peccary which Pete said he hadn’t ever seen before on a night tour. Can you believe we had a tiger that was eating a deer's leg right next to us when you could barely see them! Also that a lion was walking up and down right next to the glass where we were! It was amazing.

The activities we did on camp were really fun, especially doing the scavenger hunt and getting into groups. We chose a random animal and the animal that we picked meant the group we were in. We did all our activities with that group. Some of the year 3’s were scared of going about camp and staying away from home because they had never gone on a camping trip before but they were resilient and they had lots of fun when they got there! (we are very proud of them indeed).

The food and drinks there were really good too. The pizza was exceptional. It was super cheesy! Also it had just the right amount of sauce! The cheese toasties for breakfast were absolutely amazing and the fruit was fresh too. The cordial they provided was outstanding as well. But before we got any of that we had to clean up our tents and pack everything up

Mostly we would like to thank our teachers for all the hard work they did to let us come here and have an unforgettable time at the amazing Melbourne zoo. Thank you Miss Levy and Miss Prosser!

3/4CM News from the Zoo

Our Camp was on Wednesday night and Thursday morning on Nov 9th and 10th. We got there by bus and it did not take long; only 45 mins to get to the Melbourne Zoo in Parkville.

Our leaders Annie and Aimee who were both very good leaders. They were very good at explaining things about all the animals. Annie was very good at explaining the animals' lives and habitats and Aimee was very good at explaining the activities that we had to do at the campsite, like the scavenger hunt.

During the night tour we saw lots of animals, including the giraffes and when one sat down.  Aimme told us that it was feeling very safe otherwise it would stay standing. It was funny when Claudia’s shoe fell into the giraffes' enclosure and Annie had to go and get a hook to get it out.

There was a chef who cooked incredible Pizzas for our dinner.  The pizza flavors were Margherita and Hawaiian. We could also have Macaroni cheese and salads with dinner and we got cereal, toast, fruit and yogurt for breakfast. The food was amazing and everyone loved it.

Overall, our favorite bit was when we were trying to go to sleep but no one fell asleep before 11 o'clock, even though we tried, the possum’s didn't make it any easier anyway.

It was so much fun sharing the tent with our friends we just could not stop talking.

Mrs Collins and Mrs Murphy stayed up all night so if we needed anything, like the bathroom and if we couldn't sleep and if we didn’t feel comfortable they were there for us.

Mostly we would like to thank our teachers for all of the hard work they put in making the experience possible and fun😀.
