From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Hopefully we have seen the last of the wet weather for the year. It seems to be every Friday; our students have done an exceptional job transitioning the PA assemblies. While it’s not the same as having everyone together, it’s wonderful to hear our Foundation students singing their hearts out!

We are looking forward to getting everyone back tomorrow for Raelene’s farewell; if the weather isn’t favourable, we will move everyone into the hall; we will bring additional air purifiers over to ensure everyone is safe. Children can dress up as buckets or bring buckets for Raelene as we make her last Assembly a very memorable experience.

This weekend I’m delighted to be taking each Grade 2 classes Teddies to my house. I’m sure my daughters will take them on lots of adventures, maybe even some Halloween activities! Monday is the teachers PPD Report Writing Day; Camp Australia will be running a vacation care program if you require care for your children on Monday.

Tomorrow, Friday 28 October, our school will celebrate World Teachers’ Day and recognise the incredible contributions our teachers make to our community.

World Teachers' Day is an opportunity for our community to say 'thank you'. On this day, we will recognise the passion our teachers have, and how teaching has extended beyond the classroom to maintain connections through remote learning.

Feel free to let our teachers know you appreciate them. You and your children can get involved by sending a message of thanks to a teacher who is making, or has made, an impact on your life.

Somerville Primary School will be sending out their Parent Payment information tomorrow via Sentral. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

Have an excellent long weekend.

Kind Regards,

David
