Academic Certificates

Newcastle Permanent Primary Maths Competition ~ This annual maths competition gives Year 5 and Year 6 students from across regional NSW the opportunity to test their numeracy and problem-solving skills.

One of Australia’s longest running annual maths competitions, it is more than 40 years old. It now attracts over 22,000 students from more than 350 schools. Congratulations to Georgia Baird, Evie Watt and Hunter Rigelsford for their efforts in this competition.

 

ICAS ~ The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools, is an independent, skills-based assessment program. ICAS recognises and rewards student achievement in areas such as English, Maths, Science, Spelling, Writing and Digital Technologies. The series of tests are designed to match and test skills that are learned in the school classroom. Students in over 20 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the United States participate in ICAS each year. Each test is sat at the student’s school and is invigilated by teachers under normal examination conditions.

Armidale Diocesan Debating Competition ~ Sacred Heart entered a team into the Debating competition  again this year. Our team members were: Xanthia Watson, Molly Murphy, Georgia Baird, Evie Watt and Hunter Rigelsford. After rounds against St Edward's Tamworth, St Nicholas Tamworth, Uralla and Quirindi, were received an Overall Equal 1st Place. Congratulations to our amazing team!
