For this week’s class we have 6B, one of the classes that are part of the school's amazing 5/6 cohort. As part of the class spotlight we interviewed two of their delightful kids, asking them some questions about what they do in reading, writing and mathematics and really what has been going on within their amazing class. They were happy to answer, and this was what they said:

We interviewed: Zane and Melissa
What makes your class such a special place to learn in?

Zane: Everyone in the class is friendly and helps with my work and wellbeing, I look forward to coming to school each day.

Melissa: The teachers are always funny so it helps me enjoy class and be more enthusiastic. My class and classmates are really nice as well. It’s a fun and happy environment for me to learn.

What is your class doing at the moment in Reading?

Melissa: Right now we are discussing the themes and Genre of a text called “One Careless Night”. As well as this, we are reading a chapter book, we need to read up to 4 chapters a week which can be challenging but it is a really good book.

Zane: As well as this we need to look at the author's message of a text and think about how we can apply the message to our lives.

What is your class doing at the moment in Writing?

We are working on our yearbook and a lot of us are up to our memories. This helps us to reflect on what has happened to us at Albanvale Primary School and think about what we will remember after this year.

What is your class doing at the moment in Mathematics?

:We are learning about converting fractions into decimals and percentages. This is hard to understand but with my classmates help, I have been able to learn it and apply it to problems.

What is your favourite part about being a student at Albanvale Primary School?
Every student has a teacher by their side that can understand you so you can achieve your learning goals. We are also doing the year 6 program that is really cool because it is something different that we have not done before.

It is clear that the students in 6B are doing some awesome work and this has allowed the class to learn some great things. We will be back next week to highlight the great work that another of Albanvale Primary School Classes work is doing.
