Secondary 9-10

Term 3

The Secondary 9-10 held their '9-10 Night Out' earlier this month.  This was a wonderful evening with well over 100 in attendance.  This was a night for parents and carers to view students work, learn about the curriculum and experience a taste of what its like to be in a real 9-10 classroom.  Parents and Carers were placed in home group teams with their young adults and teachers.  Throughout the night they were given numerous tasks and assignments with the instruction of working together as a team to compete against the other home groups.  Activities covering the whole 9-10 curriculum were completed.  It was great to see so many people working together to help each other out.

Highlights of the night included:

-  A game of Trivial Pursuit with questions from the students on what they had learnt    as part of their Integrated Unit on Australia last semester

-  A Barista made coffee and hot chocolates

-  In their home group team, a descriptive piece of creative writing had to be written      on a make believe teacher.  The quote of the night was “she had pimples on              pimples”

-  An exciting game of bingo was played as people worked out different                          mathematical problems being thrown at them

-  Beautifully put together display boards by each teacher proudly showing off                students work

-  Creative minds were put to work as anti-bully posters were designed in the groups
